Transformation is the name given to the redevelopment work at Kidlington, which we hope to begin in October this year. The drawing shows the new entrance to the building, with its glass frontage, visible from Oxford Road. An enlarged foyer will have drinks-making facilities, and a much widened corridor passes new individual toilets, each with wash basins, plus a large accessible toilet. The worship area will incorporate the vestry, storage and a sound-proof crèche with glass front looking into the church. Emphasis is on our environmental impact, and making it a welcoming and safe place for all. This includes underfloor heating with an air source heating pump and improved insulation, and a new AV system. We have recently added Wifi to the building.
We are indebted to the Circuit meeting for making a substantial grant towards the £450,000 cost of the project and are encouraged that the District may also decide to give more than the original £10,000 already agreed. Fundraising continues, with two events planned for September. For more information on these, and to make a gift to Transformation, please go to our website www.kidlingtonmethodists.org.uk.
