Our friends at Watlingon are very happy to show us their new roof, rebuilt with the best Welsh slates, just like the original of 1812, as befits a Grade 2 listed conservation area. They raised over £6,100 from local people and with generous grants from our Circuit, our District, the Oxford Historic Churches Trust and the Garfield Weston Foundation, they were able to start the work using local builders in September 2020. See https://ohct.org.uk for a picture of the church – project of the month!
The stewards say: "We are very thankful for all the support we have received and feel the church roof should now be good for the next 100 years and, God willing, will be used for his service for at least that time."
Amen to that!
